Barbican Estate, London

Barbican Estate, London, designed in the brutalist style by Architects Chamberlain, Powel and Bon and built in the 1960's and 1970's. A sought after place to live in London. The apartments were originally built as social housing, and some still are. A friend of ours who lives in London told us that to rent a 'room' in one of these flats cost £1000 per month. Located within walking distance of St. Paul's and The City of London, it is not surprising that it is a sought after location. But the architecture and landscape design in the 'brutalist' style, is anything but in reality. It is beautiful, lived-in and most certainly loved.
